For this introductory custom script webinar, held on September 24th 2020, no previous coding knowledge is required. We assume the viewers are familiar with the following concepts: satellite, electromagnetic spectrum, wavelength, satellite band, raster computation, spectral signature and RGB color. Multi-Temporal Scripts and Data Fusion

Tune into the recording of our latest webinar which will guide you through the creation of multi-temporal scripts and how to combine different EO data collections to create Data Fusion scripts. The webinar was held on February 25th 2021. General agenda:

OGC API with QGIS Integration

The second live Sentinel Hub webinar was held on October 29th 2020. It dives into Sentinel Hub OGC API, looking at how OGC requests are structured, how to run them in different environments, such as Postman, Requests Builder and Python, and looks in depth at how to integrate them into QGIS. Details:

  • Configuration utility - create your own configurations with layers and view them in EO Browser
  • Create WMS request directly from the configuration utility and use it to view your layers in QGIS
  • Use QGIS Plugin to view your layers in QGIS
  • Use our OGC documentation and examples page to analyze the types and structure of OGC requests in Sentinel Hub
  • Run a custom WMS request using URL, Postman, Python and Request builder

Commercial Data in Sentinel Hub

The Commercial Data webinar was held live on January 14th 2021. It presents the availability of commercial data (Airbus Pleiades, Airbus SPOT or PlanetScope) in Sentinel Hub, and the Network of Resources, an ESA-sponsored Sentinel Hub accounts and access to commercial data available for research purposes and pre-commercial exploitation and validation. General agenda:

  • Use Requests Builder to search and order commercial data (Airbus Pleiades, Airbus SPOT or PlanetScope) easily
  • Organize your tiles using collections
  • Create custom configurations and visualize your data in EO Browser
  • Integrate commercial data into your own GIS using Sentinel Hub APIs

Bring Your Own Data

Learn how to integrate your own raster data into Sentinel Hub. Watch the recording of our live webinar which took place on December 9th, 2021. General agenda:

Batch Processing API

Have you ever wanted to process an entire country or even continent of, say, cloudless Sentinel-2 imagery? With the Batch Processing API you can process huge areas and longer time span with any visualization of your choice. If you missed our live webinar on 23rd June 2021 watch the recording. Automated Agricultural Field Delineation Tool

In this webinar we introduced the automatic agricultural field delineation tool developed as part of the NIVA H2020 project. The webinar took place on March 3rd 2022. It focuses on use cases, specifically how you can leverage Sentinel Hub and machine learning to develop modern agriculture monitoring applications. In a hands-on session, we ran the tool in an interactive Jupyter Notebook. Python knowledge will help understanding the code, but is not a prerequisite. General agenda:

Query Planet Webinars - AI for EO at scale

Webinars dedicated to Query Planet, an ESA-funded project supported by PhiLab that aims to facilitate the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to build large-scale Earth Observation applications exploiting Sentinel-2 and commercial data sources. The goal of the project is to create and open-source AI solutions that tackle state-of-the-art and compelling EO challenges. These use-cases build on the Sentinel Hub service and the open-source eo-learn library.

Query Planet: AI for EO at scale - Introduction

The first webinar was held on March 24th 2022. We provided you with an overview of the use-cases developed, namely super-resolution technology for optical sensors, forest and tree species mapping of Europe, and efficient object detection at scale. For each use-case we outlined technical details and the created open-sourced material, e.g. data, code, models, which will be described more in detail in the second hands-on webinar mentioned above. Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning will help the understanding of the algorithms, although this is not a prerequisite. General agenda:

  • Project motivation and aim
  • Super-resolution of Sentinel-2 time-series imagery
  • Pan-European forest and tree species mapping using Sentinel-2 imagery
  • Efficient object detection using multi-scale satellite imagery
  • Open-sourcing the use-cases

Query Planet: AI for EO at scale - Building an Application

The second webinar, held on April 7th 2022, is a hands-on tutorial on how to set-up and run the use-cases developed as part of the project. For each use-case, a description of the required data and code was provided, as well as a demonstration of how to run the code. The use-cases were developed using the open-source eo-learn library and are available on the eo-learn-examples GitHub repository. Knowledge of Python, machine learning, and deep learning is helpful for understanding the code, although this is not a prerequisite. General agenda:

  • Hands-on: Super-resolution of Sentinel-2 time-series imagery
  • Hands-on: Pan-European forest and tree species mapping using Sentinel-2 imagery

Ask the Sentinel Hub Team

The Sentinel Hub webinar - Ask the Sentinel Hub Team - was held on October 28, 2021. To learn more about Earth Observation and Sentinel Hub tailored to your needs, this session had a slightly different format. Prior to the event, you were invited to watch a Short Course on Earth Observation Methods and Data and send us questions on various topics from EO and Sentinel Hub. During the live session, we first answered the questions received and then opened the opportunity to discuss other topics related to Sentinel Hub and remote sensing. This session was suitable for those just entering the world of remote sensing as well as those who wanted to deepen their knowledge.
